wedding night

On your wedding night you may want to stay somewhere special. Although this first night is important, you should consider that after your big day, you will probably not want to travel too far.

That gorgeous little cottage in the woods may seem the ideal ‘first night’ spot, but after a two-hour drive, you will probably just want to go to sleep! Choosing first night accommodation close to your reception venue is a good idea - the little cottage will still be there for the rest of your honeymoon. Accommodation is rated from one to five stars. The higher the rating, the better the conditions and service should be. If your preferred accommodation does not offer what you desire as a standard, you may be able to negotiate with the proprietors.

Many accommodation venues do, however, offer "wedding packages". These can include a whole range of extras such as flowers, chocolates, champagne and a spa bath. Everything that helps make your first night together as a married couple wonderful. Many couples prefer to take advantage of the "wedding package" offered in conjunction with their reception. Remember that if you are not staying where the reception is being held, don't forget to arrange transport from the reception to your wedding night accommodation.
